Design
The station is designed with a traditional Malay roof structure and shape, but using modern materials such as steel beams, similar to that of the Eunos Bus Interchange. The word tradition comes from the Latin traditionem acc of traditio which means "a giving up delivering up surrendering" and is used in a number of Malays (Melayu are an Ethnic group of Austronesian peoples predominantly inhabiting the Malay Peninsula, the east coast of Sumatra, the coast This is to provide a sense of identity to the area, as Eunos bus interchange lies close to Geylang Serai and the Malay Village.
This station has a different style of architecture from other stations on the eastern part of the East West Line which feature white round semi-circle-shaped roofs.

MRT staff escorted the 600-odd commuters on the train off the platform at Eunos and cordoned off the part of the station where the incident happened. Voltage carried by the third rail adjoining one of the two rail tracks was shut off as a safety measure, just before rescue operations. East-bound services between Aljunied MRT Station to Tanah Merah MRT Station were suspended for about 40 minutes from 8:16am, but Eunos station remained open, so that city-bound traffic was unaffected during rush hour.
