Ernest Foster was a first class cricketer who played one match for Yorkshire County Cricket Club against the M. Yorkshire County Cricket Club, who represent the historic county of Yorkshire, are one of the 18 major county clubs which make up the English domestic Cricket C. C. at Lords in 1901.
A right arm fast medium bowler, he bowled 10 overs without success and conceded 27 runs. He scored 2 in his only innings. George Hirst took 11 wickets and scored 86 and 18 not out and despite Bill Storey's 107, Yorkshire ran out winners by 6 wickets.
