Episinus truncatus is a small dark tangle-web spider. Pierre André Latreille ( November 20, 1762 - February 6, 1833) was a French entomologist. In England, it is mostly found on heather and sometimes on coastal grassland. Calluna vulgaris (also known as Ling is the sole species in the Genus Calluna in the family Ericaceae. It spins a simple web near the ground. It can grow up to 4 mm and is very similar to Episinus angulatus.
