This number represents the sequential rank in which they represented the country in each of the formats of Test, One Day International (ODI) and Twenty20 cricket. The number features particularly on their outerwear (shirt, jersey/fleece or training top) and also their headgear (cap, baseball cap or sunhat). It is also used effectively to 'name' their personal kit[1].
The system is used by most cricketing countries including Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Australia and the West Indies. The inaugural Board of Control The Pakistan Cricket Board was inaugurated on 1 May 1948 as the "Cricket Control Board of Pakistan" The Indian cricket team is an international Cricket team representing India. Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB previously known as Bangladesh Cricket Control Board is the main governing body on Cricket in Bangladesh. The Australian cricket team is the national cricket team of Australia. The West Indian cricket team, also known colloquially as The Windies or The West Indies, is a multi-national Cricket team representing It is reported that, for England, the numbering system and allocations were first researched by England scorer and statistician, Malcolm Ashton[2].
