Eduardo Pitta (born August 9, 1949) is a Portuguese poet, fiction writer and essayist. Life and work

Born in Lourenço Marques [Maputo] on August 9th, 1949, he lived in Mozambique until 1975. Mozambique, officially the Republic of Mozambique (Moçambique or República de Moçambique, ʁɛ'publikɐ d musɐ̃'bik is a country in southeastern Africa He had published eight books of poetry. A large selection of that corpus of poems was collected in Poesia Escolhida, 2004. A significant number of his essays and critical writings have been collected in four volumes. Now he is a columnist to literary magazine LER and he writes literary criticism at the Lisbon's newspaper Público.
