Her father was not planning to send her to high school, as it was not uncommon for a girl in that time not to go, but, her professor persuaded her father to give in and he sent her to high school. She then went on to university. She studied Roman law, church law, German law; civil, criminal, commercial procedures; the laws of notion; political science; and economical theory. She was unable to get her degree because the university banned Jews, however in 1946, after WWII she became a judge in Brandenburg.
