Early life
Fenech Adami is the son of Luigi Fenech Adami and Josephine Pace. He was educated at St Aloysius' College, B'kara and the University of Malta, where he first studied economics and the classics and later law. St Aloysius' College (often abbreviated to SAC is a Catholic college run by the Jesuits in Birkirkara, Malta, founded in 1907. The University of Malta ( Maltese L-Università ta' Malta) is the highest educational institution in Malta. Economics is the social science that studies the production distribution, and consumption of goods and services. Between 1987 and 1996, Fenech Adami ushered a major period of change for Malta. Trade was liberalized, whilst telecommunications, banking and financial services were deregulated or privatised. Malta also applied to join the European Economic Community on 16 July 1990[1]. Between 1996 and 1998 Fenech Adami served as Leader of the Opposition until his Party was returned to office in September 1998.
