His children, Paul, Bernard, Edouard, Gerard ,Pierre, Raymond, Suzanne, Marie survived him,and Edouard, Pierre and Bernard became prominent real estate developers. It is widely accepted that Paul was the most grounded and personal of the brothers. Pierre, however, suffered a setback when convicted of income tax evasion in 1996. His grandson Pierre Bourque was appointed a city of Ottawa alderman and regional councillor but lost the first election after his appointment.
