The station can be accessed from St. Margaret's Drive. The station building is on the northbound platform. In the building is a ticket office, a toilet (accessed by key) and a kiosk. There is a public phone at the entrance and there are waiting rooms on both platforms. The platforms are connected by a ramped subway.
There are bus stops outside the station on St. Margaret's Drive and Woodmill Street. There is a taxi rank at the main entrance.

Monday to Saturday daytimes there is generally a half-hourly service southbound to Edinburgh and an hourly service northbound towards Kirkcaldy (and back to Edinburgh) on the Fife Circle Line. Kirkcaldy Railway Station is a railway station in the town of Kirkcaldy, Fife, Scotland.
Evenings there is an hourly service in each direction and on Sundays two-hourly.
