Service History
Majore General Lewis graduated from the Royal Military College, Duntroon in 1975, where was allocated to the Royal Australian Infantry Corps. During his career, Lewis served three tours with the Special Air Service Regiment, later commanding the Regiment between 1990 and 1992, where, for his serices, Lewis was decorated with the Conspicuous Service Cross. Later Life
On retiring from the army in 2005, Duncan Lewis was appointed to the position of First Assistant Secretary of the National Security Division in the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet, and in October 2005, was appointed as Deputy Secretary, Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet.
