In taxonomy, Dunaliella is a genus of algae, specifically of the Dunaliellaceae. Taxonomy, sometimes alpha taxonomy, is the Science of finding describing and categorising Organisms thus giving rise to taxonomic groups or taxa A genus (plural genera from Γένος Latin genus "descent family type gender" is a low-level Taxonomic Algae ( sing. alga are a large and diverse group of simple typically Autotrophic organisms ranging from Unicellular to Multicellular forms In taxonomy, the Dunaliellaceae are a family of Algae, specifically of the Chlamydomonadales. [1]

Dunaliella sp. are motile, unicellular, rod shaped (9 - 11µm) green algae (Chlorophyceae), which are common in marine waters. The organisms is relatively simple to cultivate and does not clump or form chains.

The best-known species is the halophile Dunaliella salina. Halophiles are Extremophiles that thrive in environments with very high concentrations of Salt. Dunaliella salina is a type of Halophile pink micro- Algae especially found in sea salt fields
