Dover F. Dover Athletic Football Club is an association football team based in the town of Dover, Kent, England, who play in the Isthmian League C. was a football club based in Dover, Kent, England. Its inhabitants account for more than 83% of the total UK population whilst its mainland The club joined the Kent League in 1894, but folded in 1901. History The first Kent League was formed in 1894 and folded in 1959 [1] Dover F. C. was revived a year later, this time as a purely amateur club, and rejoined the Kent League, but folded again in 1909. [1] The club reformed once again, this time as Dover United F. C. and playing in local leagues, in 1920 but disbanded for the third time in 1933. A further incarnation of the club, once again under the name Dover F. C. , began play a year later, only to fold yet again in 1947.

A new semi-professional Dover F. C. was immediately formed and rejoined the Kent League, going on to win the league championship twice in the 1950s before progressing to the Southern League. History Professional football (and Professional sport in general developed more slowly in Southern England than in the north. Dover won the championship of Division One in 1967 and gained promotion to the Premier Division, where the club spent eleven seasons before being relegated. In 1983 the club folded due to its massive debts. [2] A new club, Dover Athletic F.C., took over its place in the league and remains active to this day.
