Doc is seen in issue #77, helping to take care of the wounded that resulted from the Cobra civil war.
Doc himself would die in issue #109. He is captured by the Crimson Twins, along with several other Joe soldiers, after a mission in Trucial Abysmia. Tomax and Xamot, also called the Crimson Twins or Crimson Guard Commanders are the code names of identical twin brothers in the G Unarmed, they are being kept inside a wide hole in the ground. The Crimson Twins, completely misunderstanding an order from Cobra Commander, are very reluctant to carry out any murders. Cobra Commander is a fictional character from the GI Joe franchise. One S. A. W. Viper steps up and shoots Doc first, then other Joes. The survivors wound the Viper and escape.
He first appeared in the animated series in the A Real American Hero mini-series.
