The Diocese of Cloyne was established in the year A. D. 580. [1] It has remained an independent diocese in the Roman Catholic Church. In the Church of Ireland, it is part of the Diocese of Cork, Cloyne and Ross. The Church of Ireland (Eaglais na hÉireann is an autonomous province of the Anglican Communion, operating across the island of Ireland.
