Dink (styled DINK), was an alternative/industrial rock band formed in Kent, Ohio in 1992. Alternative rock (also called alternative music, alt-rock or simply alternative; known primarily in the UK as indie) is a genre of Industrial rock is a Musical genre that fuses Industrial music and Punk rock. Kent is a city in Portage County, Ohio, United States. It is located along the Cuyahoga River in the northeastern part of Ohio and the Year 1992 ( MCMXCII) was a Leap year starting on Wednesday (link will display full 1992 Gregorian calendar) The band's sound was considered unique for its time, combining elements of industrial, hip-hop (rapped vocals and extensive use of samples), hard rock, and electronic dance. Hip hop is a cultural movement which developed in New York City in the 1970s primarily among African Americans and Latinos. Hard rock (also referred to as heavy rock) is a variation of Rock music which has its earliest roots in mid-1960s garage and Psychedelic rock Dink's members included Sean Carlin (guitar, vocals, programming), Rob Lightbody (vocals, guitar), Jer Herring (guitar, vocals), Jeff Finn (bass), and Jan Eddy Van Der Kuil (drums). The guitar is a Musical instrument with ancient roots that is used in a wide variety of musical styles Singing is the act of producing musical sounds with the voice, which is often contrasted with Speech. Dink released one self-titled album, also mostly self-produced, in 1994 on Capitol Records. Year 1994 ( MCMXCIV) was a Common year starting on Saturday (link will display full 1994 Gregorian calendar) Capitol Records is a major United States -based Record label owned by EMI and located in Hollywood California and New York City as The album featured one song produced by Skinny Puppy's Dave "Rave" Ogilvie. Skinny Puppy is an industrial band formed in Vancouver, BC, Canada in 1982. Dave "Rave" Ogilvie is a Canadian record producer and musician The song "Green Mind" was a hit, featuring some play on MTV and in the films Fear and Double Dragon, and reached #1 on the alternative dance charts. MTV ( Music Television) is an American Cable television network based in New York City. Fear is a 1996 thriller / Home Invasion film directed by James Foley, starring Mark Wahlberg and Reese Witherspoon Double Dragon is a 1994 Live-action Film adaptation of the video game franchise of the same name. The band's next two singles, "Angels" and "Get on it" also topped the alternative dance charts, repeating the chart success of "Green Mind. " Dink toured briefly with bands such as Pop Will Eat Itself, KMFDM and Lords of Acid to further promote their debut. Pop Will Eat Itself (also known as PWEI or the Poppies) were an English band formed in Stourbridge, with band members from Birmingham KMFDM are a German Industrial rock band and the brainchild of founding member Sascha Konietzko. Lords of Acid is a Belgian Acid house band from the 1990s that started as a spinoff of Praga Khan with the controversial New Beat single "

Dink recorded a follow up album, also on Capitol in 1995, and some of the songs would be released on the EP Blame It on Tito, which was released in 1996. Year 1995 ( MCMXCV) was a Common year starting on Sunday. Events of 1995 Year 1996 ( MCMXCVI) was a Leap year starting on Monday (link will display full 1996 Gregorian calendar) The band then recorded additional songs for a second album to be released in late 1997/early 1998, but was dropped by Capitol due to the changing musical climate. Year 1997 ( MCMXCVII) was a Common year starting on Wednesday (link will display full 1997 Gregorian calendar Year 1998 ( MCMXCVIII) was a Common year starting on Thursday (link will display full 1998 Gregorian calendar) This led to the band's break up in 1998.
