Dinhata has a vary glorious political history. Ershad, one of the Former President of Bangladesh had studied in Dinhata High School. Kamal Guha. Kamal Guha (1928 &ndash 2007 was an Indian politician He was a Forward Bloc leader and member of the Left Front cabinet in the Indian state of (MLA from Forward Block), Former agriculture minister of the Govt. of W. B, was from Dinhata. Now the MLA of this area is Ashok Mondal[TMC]. Total Blocks= 2 Total Wards= 16 Head of the Municipality= Sri Jagadish Ch Ghosh.
