Born Richard Stanford Cox in Carmel, California. Carmel-by-the-Sea, usually called simply Carmel, is a small town endowed with a rich artistic history situated on the Monterey Peninsula in Monterey Sargent had appeared in films since his debut in 1956. When Dick York was forced to leave the Bewitched series owing to health problems in 1969, Sargent stepped into the role. Dick York ( September 4, 1928 &ndash February 20, 1992) was an American Actor in Radio, Broadway stage Bewitched is an American Situation comedy originally broadcast for eight seasons on ABC from 1964 to 1972. Later in life, he publicly declared his homosexuality, and supported gay rights issues.
