A diary is a record (originally in written book format) with discrete entries arranged by date reporting on what has happened over the course of a day or other period. History

The word diary comes from the Latin diarium ("daily allowance", from dies, "day", more often in the plural form diaria). Latin ( lingua Latīna, laˈtiːna is an Italic language, historically spoken in Latium and Ancient Rome.
