Background

The first series of Diamond Geezer was supposed to be a one off special ITV drama starring David Jason as a long-serving prison inmate trying to persuade a first time offender to join forces with him in his new big scam. The pilot episode of Diamond Geezer was aired on the 20th March 2005. It starred David Jason as a long-serving prison inmate Des. Sir David John White OBE, known by his Stage name David Jason (born 2 February 1940 is an English Actor, known His character comes across as a frail old man who is honest and open, which gains the respect of most of the inmates and the prison guards alike. What they fail to realise is Des's master plan to form the 'perfect crime' and steal valuable diamonds from fellow inmate and notorious bully Benny and takes petty theft criminal Phil under his wing to hatch the devious and dangerous plan.
