Dhansak is a popular Indian dish, very popular among the Parsi community and combines elements of Persian and Gujarati cuisine. It is made of lentils, vegetables, spices, cumin seeds, ginger, garlic etc. The lentil or daal or pulse ( Lens culinaris) is a bushy Annual plant of the legume family grown for its lens-shaped Seeds A spice is a dried Seed, Fruit, Root, Bark or vegetative substance used in Nutritionally insignificant quantities as a Food additive Ginger is commonly used as a cooking spice throughout the world Allium sativum L, commonly known as garlic, is a species in the Onion family Alliaceae. Among the Parsi community, Dhansak usually contains mutton, chicken or lamb in addition to the lentils and vegetables. Lamb, hogget, and mutton are the meat of Domestic sheep. The meat of an animal in its first year is lamb; that of an older sheep is hogget
