History

The Moghuls were defeated by Rohillas at Dhampur in about 1750. Rohillas ( Urdu: روہِلا Hindi: रोहिला are Muslim highlanders ( Roh means mountains and Rohilla literally means

Economy

One of the largest sugar producers in India, Dhampur Sugar mills, is located here[3]. Setup in 1933, Dhampur Sugar mills is a publicly listed sugar company, who produce the Dhampure brand of sugar products. [4] Dhampur's main economy is based on agriculture, mainly sugarcane, wheat, and paddy. The mango fruits production is also eaxtra augment to Dhampurs economy.

S. M. (PG) College, 02: S. B. D. college and 03:Dhampur Degree college , Late Master Hari Singh ji Chauhan was the founder of R. S. M. Inter college, now known as R. S. M. (Pg. ) College Dhampur and still known as the Madan Mohan Malviya of the area.

RSM degree college is only agriculture college of Rohailkhand University.
