Portsmouth entrepreneur Rachel Lowe invented the game while working as a taxi driver. Rachel Lowe, born in 1977 attended the University of Portsmouth in order to earn a law degree [1] In September 2004 she appeared in the first series of Dragons' Den where her pitch for funding was rejected. Dragons' Den is a venture-capitalist Television programme that originated in Japan where the format is owned by Sony. [2]

The first edition, Destination London was Hamleys best-selling game when it was launched in 2004, outselling Monopoly and continues to be a best seller. Hamleys is one of the world's largest Toy shops It is currently located at 188&ndash196 Regent Street in London. [1]
