Derveni (Greek, Modern: Δερβένι, Ancient/Katharevousa: -on), older spellings, Dervenio, Dervenion is a village in the municipality of Megalopoli in the southwestern part of the prefecture of Arcadia. Derveni was linked by GR-7/E65, which is now bypassed and the older one became an old highway. Greek National Road 7 is a motorway in Peloponnese, Greece. The village of Derveni is surrounded with three mountain ranges, a taller one is south of the village.
The village is covered with forests while not far from the village is mainly rocky and bushy. A few farmlands dominates within the village.

The worst scenario that the village ever saw was the country's worst fire that broke the 1950s level and burnt around 80% of the region, its forests and bushes are burnt they have been reduced to ashes and burnt ash that only branches remain, it may take years to recover the natural beauty. The village a church and a square (plateia). Plateia or platia ( πλατεία) is the Greek word for Town square. It was one of the village where the population in the past 70 years only dropped nearly by half. Its nearest school is in Paradeisia.
