A Deputy Conservator of Forests or, equivalently a Divisional Forest Officer is an officer belonging to the elite Indian Forest Service. The Indian Forest Service ( IFS) is the Forestry service of India. The Deputy Conservator of Forests is responsible for managing the Forests, Environment and Wild-Life related issues of a Forest Division of a state or a union territory of India. A forest division is a term used to signify an area containing one or more (usually demarcated and (usually protected or resource-managed forests for administrative purposes India, officially the Republic of India (भारत गणराज्य inc-Latn Bhārat Gaṇarājya; see also other Indian languages) is a country He is assisted by the officers of the State Forest Service and other State Forest officials and State Wild-Life officials. He is presided by the conservator of forest(C. F).
