Dentrix uses a C-tree database system with theoretical limit of 29 workstations. C-tree is a family of embedded database and data management software by Faircom Corporation A workstation, such as a Unix workstation, RISC workstation or Engineering workstation, is a high-end Microcomputer The Enterprise version (DXOne) uses a SQL database and can support many workstations and/or multiple office locations. In addition to their fully integrated digital imaging program (Dentrix Image), Dentrix allows integration with many different image software through use of DtxLinks. Images and documents are all stored in a proprietary format.
