Dennis Davis is an American drummer and session musician best known for his work with David Bowie. Session musicians are musicians available for hire as opposed to musicians who are either permanent members of a musical outfit or who have acquired fame in their own right David Bowie (ˈboʊiː born David Robert Jones on 8 January 1947 is an English Musician, actor producer, and arranger.

He was born and raised in Manhattan, New York City and studied with the late drummers Max Roach and Elvin Jones.
