The Deer Act 1980 (1980 c. 49) was an Act of Parliament in the United Kingdom. An Act of Parliament is a Law enacted as Primary legislation by a national or sub-national Parliament. The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, commonly known as the United Kingdom, the UK or Britain,is a Sovereign state located It came into operation in November 1980, and has since been fully repealed by the Deer Act 1991.

The main effect of the Act was to put measures in place to prevent the poaching of deer and control the sale of venison. Poaching is the illegal Hunting, Fishing or Harvesting of wild plants or animals A deer is a Ruminant Mammal belonging to the family Cervidae. Venison is the Culinary name for Meat from the family Cervidae. It amended the Deer Act 1963.
