The Deep Six compilation was released March 1986 (catalog# CZ001). It was the very first release by C/Z Records, a few months before the release of "Sub Pop 100" from Sub Pop Records. C/Z Records is a Seattle -based Record label that was established in early 1985 by Chris Hanzsek and Tina Casale with the release The Sub Pop 100 is a rock Compilation album, released in 1986 by the Sub Pop label Sub Pop is an Independent record label (though funded and sharing distribution outlets with Warner Music founded by Bruce Pavitt and Jonathan Poneman It was also arguably the first record to influence the later "Seattle sound" that would be known worldwide as grunge.
