Back Story

Declan was raised by single mother, Rebecca (Jane Hall), who had pursued relationships with numerous men over the years, none of whom Declan approved of. Rebecca Napier is a Fictional character from the Australian Soap opera Neighbours, portrayed by actress Jane Hall since Jane Hall (born January 20, 1971) is an Australian actress and comedienne. He knew nothing about his father, other than the fact that Rebecca refers to him as a "monster" named Richard Aaronow, but Declan had never questioned his mother about him any further. [1] As a teenager, Declan turned to a life of petty crime in order to help his mother financially. He managed to deceive his mother by telling her that he was on a paper round and that this was where the money was coming from.

Introduction

Upon his introduction in Neighbours, Declan developed a friendship with 8-year-old Mickey Gannon (Fletcher O'Leary), the runaway son of Ned Parker (Daniel O'Connor). Mickey became an unwitting pawn in Declan's criminal activities on two occasions: first helping him steal a man's briefcase, then breaking into a house to steal a laptop computer.

After a near-miss when stealing the laptop, Declan decided to take Mickey and his dog to his house. However, Rebecca noticed the dog right away and forced Declan to ring a vet. Picking a phone number at random, Declan didn't realise he was calling Mickey's uncle, Steve Parker (Steve Bastoni). Dr Steven James Parker (better known as "Steve" or "Stevo" is a Fictional character in the Australian Soap opera Neighbours Steve Bastoni (born March 4, 1966) is an Italian Australian Actor. When Steve recognised the dog, Declan was forced to come clean about everything.

Family

It is revealed that he and Oliver Barnes (David Hoflin) share the same biological parents, thus making them brothers. Oliver Barnes is a Fictional character in the Australian Soap opera Neighbours. David Hoflin dɑːvɨd (born February 25 1979) is a Swedish -born Australian Actor. Declan's mother, Rebecca Napier, also had a relationship with Paul Robinson. Declan and his mother are currently living at his house.

Drag Racing

He has also been involved in drag racing with Bridget Parker (Eloise Mignon). Bridget "Didge" Parker is a Fictional character in the Australian Soap opera Neighbours. Kidnapping

Con artists Laura Davidson and Nick Thompson decided on kidnapping Declan to exact revenge on Paul Robinson, for killing Laura's brother Gus Cleary in late 2004. Paul James Robinson is a Fictional character in the Australian Soap opera Neighbours, played by Stefan Dennis. Luck played into their hands when Declan went on the run after being accused of the hit-and-run of Bridget Parker, as his car was witnessed hitting Bridget (the accusations were dismissed, as Susan Kinski (Jackie Woodburne) later confessed to hitting Bridget). However, Oliver didn't know how he could get the money, since his assets had been frozen in a dispute with his adoptive brother, Sebastian Barnes (Christian Clark). Sebastian Barnes (aka Will Griggs) was a Fictional character in the Network Ten Soap opera Neighbours, portrayed by Christian Clark (born 1980 is an Australian Actor. Christian graduated from Screenwise Australia's leading film and television school for actors in Sydney

Paul later discovered that Nick and Laura were the ones who kidnapped Declan, when he went to their hotel room and sees Declan tied up tightly with many ropes. He was subsequently knocked out by Laura, to prevent him from calling security. The kidnappers escaped with Declan in their car. When her conscience finally got the better of her, Laura freed Declan when Nick wasn't looking and he ran into the bush. Nick was intent on getting the $500,000, and gave chase while armed with an electric cattle prod (which he later dropped) when he found Declan was missing. A cattle prod, also called a stock prod, is a handheld device commonly used to make cattle or other Livestock move by striking or poking them or in the case of a When Oliver finally got the money and phoned Nick, arranging to meet with no cops and no other interference, Nick and Laura agree to meet. Police officer Adam Rhodes and his partner Sophie followed Paul, Oliver, and Rebecca, whilst keeping their presence unknown.

Nick demanded the money before he gave up Declan. However, Oliver demanded to see Declan or no money will be paid. Nick called Declan out of the car, however Rebecca realised that it isn't Declan, but Laura, who was forced by Nick to dress up like Declan in order to deceive Oliver. It is then that Oliver and Nick struggled over the bag of money, while the police arrived. Nick and Laura were arrested, and Sophie and Adam attempted to reason with Laura and tried to get her to reveal where Declan was. She shown the police the spot where she last saw Declan but couldn't provide any further information to help with the search. Declan was later found, with the dropped cattle prod and a sample of his shoe laces proving as vital clues.

Relationship with Bridget

He has developed feelings for resident tomboy Bridget Parker. He and Bridget had been having fights because of Declan getting Mickey (Bridget's cousin) to steal, however Bridget later forgave him. At a rock-climbing excursion, Bridget accidentally lost her grip on a rope and let Declan fall from a great height, rendering him unconscious. Declan and Bridget have a fun-loving relationship, but it's clear that their feelings for each other are more than just friends.

When Bridget was accidentally hit by Susan Kinski, she became paralysed down the left side of her body. While in Rachel Kinski's (Caitlin Stasey) swimming pool alone (Rachel went inside to find some food), Bridget slipped and almost drowned. Rachel Jessica Kinski is a Fictional character on the Network Ten Soap opera Neighbours, portrayed by Caitlin Stasey Caitlin Jean Stasey is an Australian Actress who is best known for her role as Rachel Kinski in Neighbours. However, Declan heard her cries for help and rushed to help her. While they almost kissed after this, Bridget resisted as she felt humiliated for being disabled. Eventually, Declan asked Bridget out on a date, to go see a movie.

Feeling disappointed for not receiving a kiss on the date, Bridget asked him out again. However, Declan stood her up, but later apologised saying he is not ready for her disability. Bridget then revealed her disgust with him, and refused to talk to him for a short period. Soon after, Bridget began seeing a boy she met at her rehabilitation class, Josh Taylor (Liam Hemsworth), and the two shared a kiss (which Declan jealously watched). Declan later put a CD in her locker "Declans mix of sorry songs". He tells her to think about them after one of their classes and kisses her. She tells him she's met somebody else and he tells her "Drop him. " However Bridget refused to leave Josh for Declan, despite the fact that she still had feelings for him.

Roof Collapse

At the end of the 2007 season, Declan attended a dance party without his mothers knowledge. While he was there with Bridget, Josh, Zeke Kinski (Matthew Werkmeister), Taylah Jordan (Danielle Horvat), Jessica Wallace (Heidi Valkenburg) and Ringo Brown (Sam Clark), the roof collapsed. Declan helped Josh escape, but was then trapped next to Bridget. He and Bridget talked out their issue and nearly kissed however they were interrupted by the rescue services.

A month after the accident, Josh decided to break up with Bridget, as he knew that she had feelings for Declan. Bridget's father, Steve, wrote her a Valentine's Day card to cheer her up, but she thought it was from Declan. After confronting him about it, Bridget felt humilitated after her father admitted to being the one who wrote her the card. Subsequently Declan and Bridgets interest in each other mutually waned.

Paul's Affair

Paul who has been dating Rebecca for at least a year now, began an affair with his new work collegue Kirsten Gannon. Kirsten Gannon is a fictional recurring character on the soap Neighbours. However after Rebecca's close friend and neighbour Susan Kinski found out about the affair from Lyn Scully ,who had been blackmailing Paul about the affair, she told her and Rebecca and Declan packed their bags and left the house, but just before they left Declan yelled at Paul and punched him leading to Paul falling on the table and cutting his lip as they walked out.
