David Zuckerman is a farmer and a Progressive member of the Vermont House of Representatives, representing Chittenden-3-4 district. The Vermont Progressive Party is an American Political party. The Vermont House of Representatives is the Lower house of the Vermont General Assembly, the state legislature of the U The Chittenden-3-4 Representative District is a two member state Representative district in the U He grew up in Brookline, Massachusetts where he attended Brookline High School.

Zuckerman ran for the Vermont House in 1994 while enrolled at the University of Vermont. The University of Vermont is a national public research university and the state of Vermont's land-grant university He lost by only 59 votes, but came back two years later to become the fourth Progressive Party member to serve in the State House. The Vermont Progressive Party is an American Political party. Currently, he serves as the Chair of the House Agriculture Committee and the Chittenden County Board of the Vermont Farm Bureau. He has also served on the American Farm Bureau Federation Young Farmers & Ranchers Committee and the Burlington Electric Commission.

Since graduating in 1995 Zuckerman has built a successful organic farm at Burlington’s Intervale. He and his wife Rachel Nevitt farm 16 acres of vegetables, 95% of which are sold within 10 miles (16 km) of the farm. They operate a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture with 150 members), a "pick your own strawberries", a spring plant business and sell at the local farmers market. In 2005, Zuckerman announced his intentions to run for the sole Vermont seat in the U.S. House of Representatives in the 2006 U.S. House election, then withdrew from the race in February 2006, having decided to continue serving as Agriculture Chair in the Vermont House of Representatives.
