David S. G. Thomas is a scientist and geographer. He was born in Dover, Kent, UK in 1958. He is Professor of Geography at the University of Oxford, and a Professorial Fellow of Hertford College, Oxford. The University of Oxford (informally "Oxford University" or simply "Oxford" located in the city of Oxford, Oxfordshire, England is the Hertford College is one of the constituent colleges of the University of Oxford in England. His research deals with desertification, dryland environments, climate change and other environmental phenomena.
