Early life

He went to the Bolton Boys' School, a private school and a member of the IAPS. Bolton School is an independent school in Bolton, Greater Manchester, in the North-West of England. He studied at Queens' College, Cambridge, receiving a BA in law in 1985. Queens' College is a constituent college of the University of Cambridge. From 1985-91, he worked for Clifford Chance Solicitors in London. Clifford Chance LLP is the largest Law firm in the world both by number of lawyers and revenue and a component of the UK's " Magic Circle " of leading law From 1996-7, he was Vice President of the Small Business Bureau.
