David Marchand (father of Albert Gallatin Marchand) was born near Irwin, Pennsylvania. Albert Gallatin Marchand ( February 27, 1811 - February 5, 1848) was a Democratic member of the U Irwin is a borough in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, 22 miles (35 km southeast of Pittsburgh. Marchand was elected as a Republican to the Fifteenth Congress and reelected to the Sixteenth Congress. He was elected prothonotary of Westmoreland County in 1821.
