David Taylor was formerly one of the BBC's senior producers and directors for televised light entertainment. He remained with the BBC throughout his career, starting as an assistant floor manager (AFM) and working his way through the ranks of the organisation. He worked alongside many household names such as Jimmy Saville, Terry Wogan, Jim Davidson and many others. David Taylor took early retirement from the BBC and moved to West Dorset. He now gives many lectures about his time with the corporation and is a governor of the school in the village where he now resides. He is also an active member of the local parish church.
He was awarded an honorary fellowship for services to the arts by the National College of Music and Arts, London in 2007, and he has recently accepted an invitation from the College to become a member of its Advisory Council and to oversee its diploma course for Play writing and production.
