David Bowes is an American painter, born in Boston, Massachusetts in 1957, and first recognized during the early 1980s in New York's East Village. Despite being heterosexual, Bowes was a lover of Jean Michel Basquiat. Jean-Michel Basquiat ( December 22 1960 - August 12, 1988) was an American Artist. [1][2]

He has been described as being a "brilliant painter",[3] and having a "delicacy of touch and genuine fascination with the medium of paint. "[4]
