David Scott (1950-) is a police inspector who served as area commander for Palmerston North, New Zealand, and contested the Palmerston North seat in the 2002 election as a member of the National Party. Palmerston North (Te Papa-i-oea is the main city of the Manawatu-Wanganui region of the North Island of New Zealand. New Zealand is an Island country in the south-western Pacific Ocean comprising two main landmasses (the North Island and the South Island The 2002 New Zealand general election was a nationwide vote to determine the shape of the 47th New Zealand Parliament. The New Zealand National Party ("National" or "the Nats" currently forms the second-largest (in terms of parliamentary seats Political party Scott has also served as a pastor at a marae-based church, as deputy chair of the Palmerston North Safer Community council, and on the advisory board of Drug Arm and Youth Line.
