O'Malley's mother, Hilda, a doctor, was the subject of Patrick Kavanagh's love poem "On Raglan Road". Patrick Kavanagh (Pádraig Caomhánaigh (21 October 1904 &ndash 30 November 1967 was an Irish Poet.
