He was born in Pompton Plains, NJ [1]. Pequannock Township is a Township in Morris County, New Jersey, United States.
He is known for his stylish spins and flips in the half-pipe as well as his punk image. A half-pipe is a structure used in gravity Extreme sports such as Snowboarding, Skateboarding, Skiing, freestyle BMX and Punk fashion is the styles of Clothing, Hairstyles, Cosmetics, Jewelry, and Body modifications of the Punk subculture. He was the first rider to successfully land back to back 1080s in competition, at the 2002 US Open, starting off what can best be described as a "firestorm" of halfpipe progression within the top tiers of the snowboard community. His signature trick, the Backside Rodeo or Kassarole, is one of the most difficult and impressive inverted spins that can be done on a snowboard.
His achievements include silver medals in both the 2002 Winter Olympics and 2006 Winter Olympics, three US Open golds, several medals in the X Games, and much more.
