Dagon is a township or district of Yangon, the capital city of Burma. It is the home of the historic Shwedagon Pagoda; famous for its luxury apartments and houses along Pyay (Prome) Road and U Wisara Road. The Shwedagon Pagoda (ʃwèdəgòun; ʃwèdəgòun pʰəjá officially titled Shwedagon Zedi Daw (ʃwèdəgòun zèdìdɔ̀ also known as the Golden Most of the foreign embassies, Yangon Child Hospital and Central Women Hospital are also located in Dagon township.
