DJ Casper (real name Willie Perry[1]) Casper was born in Chicago, IL. and raised in the Englewood area of the city. Chicago (ʃɪˈkɑːgoʊ is the largest City by population in the state of Illinois and the American Midwest of the United States. He is known as Casper because he always wears (wore) white on stage but is also known as [1]DJ Casper, Mr C - The Slide Man or simply Willie. It is not widely known that Casper's first hit, the Cha-Cha Slide, was in fact created for a personal trainer back in 1996 which then grew in popularity as an aerobic exercise at fitness clubs. Aerobic exercise refers to Exercise that involves or improves oxygen consumption by the body A health club, also called fitness club, is a place which houses exercise equipment for the purpose of physical exercise It was some years later that Chicago's WGCI radio station picked it up. WGCI-FM (1075 FM is a Clear Channel -owned Urban contemporary radio station that has a City of license of Chicago. The city's M. O. B. Records label became involved as well, helping Casper create a whole album to promote the dance. In the Music industry, a record label can be a Brand and a Trademark associated with the Marketing of music recordings and Music Cha-Cha Slide was then later picked up by Universal Records.

MC Jig also did a version of the Cha-Cha Slide, but the DJ Casper version was far more successful.
