It lies in the administrative region of Düsseldorf. A Regierungsbezirk is a type of government region of Germany, a subdivision of certain federal states ( ''Bundesländer'') Düsseldorf (ˈdʏsəldɔɐf is the capital city of the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia. The river Nette rises near the town. The Nette is a small River in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, a left tributary of the Niers. The town motto is, "Gloria tibi Duelken", or "Glory to you, Duelken".
