Cutervo National Park was established September 8, 1961 by means of the Law N° 13964. A national park is a reserve of land usually declared and owned by a national Government, protected from most Human development and pollution Cajamarca is a region in Peru. It is the oldest Peruvian National Park . It was the first protected natural area created by the Peruvian Government. The government of Peru, as established by the 1993 Constitution, is a presidential Representative democratic Republic. Its creator was Salomon Vilchez Murga (1907-1993)a recognized Biologist who was born in Cutervo. At the beginning it includes a total of 25 km². Actually the park has 82 km². It is located in the San Andrés de Cutervo District, Cutervo Province, Cajamarca. San Andrés de Cutervo District is one of fifteen districts of the province Cutervo in Peru. The Cutervo Province is one of the thirteen that make up the Cajamarca Region of Peru. Cajamarca is a region in Peru. The capital is the city of Cajamarca. There are lots of caves in this park like San Andres Cave, where the guacharo lives - a bird in danger of extinction

Objective

The principal objective is the protection of the flora and fauna and as well as the conservation of the beautiful scenic locations of the cordillera de los Tarros.
