A cutblock, also known as a clearcut, is a logging operation where all trees in a location are removed. Clearcutting or clearfelling is a Forestry / Logging practice in which the clear majority of all trees in a forest sector are cut down Logging is the process in which Trees are cut down for Forest management and Timber. The harvested area can grow back naturally or be replanted. Depending on the amount of consideration taken when planning and harvesting cutblocks, they can be ecologically sustainable and beneficial or ecologically detrimental. Cutblocks are often beneficial when designed properly for wildlife, as they provide areas of thick vegetation that can be used for food and/or cover.
