The Cross Crusade is cyclo-cross race series based in Portland, Oregon held over an eight week period during the months of October and November. Cyclo-cross (sometimes cyclocross, CX, cyclo-X or ' cross) is a form of Bicycle racing. Portland is a city located in the Northwestern United States, near the Confluence of the Willamette and Columbia rivers Oregon ( is a state in the Pacific Northwest region of the United States. As of 2005, the series was the largest cyclo-cross series in the US. The United States of America —commonly referred to as the [1] Currently in its 14th season,[2] the 2006 series consists of six races plus the U. S. Gran Prix of Cyclocross final (a Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) sanctioned event). Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI is a Cycling association that oversees competitive cycling events internationally The Cross Crusade began hosting UCI-sanctioned events as part of the series in 2002.
