Cool Chips is an international symposium which is held every year since 1998. Symposium originally referred to a drinking party (the Greek verb sympotein means "to drink together" but has since come to refer to any Academic conference The symposium is sponsored by Technical Committees on Microprocessors and Microcomputers and Computer Architecture of the IEEE Computer Society[1]. The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers or IEEE (read eye-triple-e) is an international Non-profit, professional organization The focus of the symposium is on presentation and discussion of advancements in the areas of low power and high performance chips[1].
