Coney Island Avenue is a roadway in the New York City borough of Brooklyn that runs for a distance of roughly five miles, almost parallel to Ocean Parkway. Coney Island is a Peninsula, formerly an island in southernmost Brooklyn, New York City, USA with a Beach on the Atlantic Ocean Prospect Park is a 585 acre (24 km² public Park in the New York City borough of Brooklyn located between Park Slope, The near-parallel Ocean Parkway terminates five blocks south and three blocks west of that intersection, becoming the Prospect Expressway (New York State Route 27). The Prospect Expressway is a short sunken highway in the New York City borough of Brooklyn, that runs through Park Slope and Windsor Terrace Ocean Parkway originally extended all the way to Park Circle, where Coney Island Avenue met Prospect Park, until construction of the Prospect Expressway replaced the northern half-mile of Ocean Parkway, but included ramps over to the edge of Prospect Park.

Coney Island Avenue frontage is dominated by mixed-use housing - pre-war apartment buildings, small shops, including a large number of antique shops, and service businesses. Several bus lines, including the B68 and the X29, run along Coney Island Avenue, connecting the Prospect Park area and Downtown Brooklyn to the famous oceanfront attractions of Coney Island and Brighton Beach.
