During the fall of 1971 KEN(ml) was riddled by internal strife. Year 1971 ( MCMLXXI) was a Common year starting on Friday (link will display full calendar of the 1971 Gregorian calendar. An issue dividing the organization was the role of intellectuals in the class struggle. An intellectual (from the adjective meaning "involving thought and reason" is a person who tries to use his or her Intelligence and analytical thinking, Class struggle is the active expression of Class conflict looked at from any kind of socialist perspective The majority lead by Monjé supported the line that the working class had to be the supreme force in the revolutionary struggle.
