In the 2003-04 season, Ciudad made their first appearance in the Segunda División A. They started the season positively reaching 12th position at the highest, and eventually avoiding relegation with a 17th position finish. In the 2004-05 season, they again narrowly avoided relegation, finishing in 18th position - the last position to avoid relegation.
Impressive performances, particularly towards the back end of the season, saw Ciudad attain a much higher league standing in 2005-06.
