Chitra Bahadur K. C. contested the Baglung-2 constituency in the 1994 election. Baglung (2827 N 8360 E elev 1020 m lies in the midhills of Nepal, 275 km west of Kathmandu. He finished second, with 15089 votes. [2]

He was elected to the Pratinidhi Sabha in the 1999 election, as a candidate of Rashtriya Jana Morcha (the electoral front of the Communist Party of Nepal (Masal)) in the constituency of Baglung-2 with 24124 votes. Chitra Bahadur K. C. won the Baglung-2 seat in the 2008 Constituent Assembly election, the sole RJM candidate to win a seat in the First Past the Post system. Baglung District, a part of Dhawalagiri Zone, is one of the seventy-five districts of Nepal, a Landlocked country of South Asia. An election for a Constituent Assembly was held in Nepal on 10 April 2008 after having been postponed from earlier dates of 20 June The plurality voting system is a Single-winner voting system often used to elect executive officers or to elect members of a legislative assembly which is based on single-member He got 12594 votes.
