China National Ethnic Song and Dance Ensemble (Chinese: 中央民族歌舞团,variously translated as China Central Song and Dance Ensemble of Ethnic Groups or Central Nationalities Song and Dance Ensemble), based in Beijing, is the only national-level performance group representing China's ethnic minorities. Ethnic minorities in China refer to the non- Han Chinese population in Mainland China and Taiwan. It was founded in 1952 by then-Premier Zhou Enlai. The Premier of the State Council ( sometimes incorrectly referred to as the "Prime Minister" is the Chairman of the State Council of the People's Republic of China Zhou Enlai ( (5 March 1898 – 8 January 1976 was the first Premier of the People's Republic of China, serving from 1949 until his death in January 1976 It has performed in over 70 countries and gives over 100 performances each year.
